Kyrie Andrew Irving (/ka/; Lakota: éla, lit. 'Little Mountain'; born March 23, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA.

After being drafted first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011, he won Rookie of the Year. He won an NBA championship with the Cavaliers in 2016. 

Irving joined the Cavaliers in 2011 after playing for Duke. 2014 All-Star Game MVP. Irving's three-pointer won the 2016 NBA Finals.

He was born in Melbourne, Australia, on March 23, 1992, to American expatriates Drederick Irving and Elizabeth (née Larson) Irving.Asia and London are his sisters.

Irving was a Montclair Kimberley Academy freshman and sophomore. He became the school's second 1,000-point scorer with 26.5 points, 10.3 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 steals.

ESPNU aired Irving's Duke commitment on October 22, 2009. Irving played for the Blue Devils under Mike Krzyzewski in 2010–2011.

After a turnover in Cavaliers NBA Summer League practice, Irving broke his right hand."A little disappointed," he said. "I must be more health-conscious."

Dallas Mavericks loss injured Irving's index finger. He missed three weeks after the Cavaliers' next game.His second game back, wearing a black face mask to protect a broken bone,
