Fullback and wide midfielder Fabian Marco Johnson (born December 11, 1987) plays professionally. Born in Germany, he played for the US national team and Germany in youth competitions.
Johnson is from Munich. He was born to a German-American mother and an African-American serviceman who played basketball in Germany. He played soccer for Sportfreunde München in 1991.
In mid-1996, Johnson joined 1860 Munich's famed youth team.[2] In July 2006, Johnson joined 1860 München's first team.
Johnson made his Borussia Mönchengladbach debut in the 72nd minute of the home match against VfB Stuttgart on August 23, 2014.
Johnson joined Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer after the 2013–14 season on February 24, 2014.
On August 25, 2011, Johnson was called up by head coach Jürgen Klinsmann for friendly matches against Costa Rica and Belgium.
Johnson made his international debut for the United States on November 11, 2011, as a substitute in a 1–0 loss to France.
On June 12, 2012, he qualified against Guatemala. Johnson assisted the USMNT's only goal in a 4–1 loss against Brazil on June 23, 2012.
