Easy-to-Grow        Veggies

LETTUCE

Start lettuce inside or in your garden bed. One of our few year-round crops, it should be sheltered and picked smaller in hot weather.

GREEN BEANS

Beans flourish in poor soil because they fix nitrogen! Pole varieties harvest longer than bush kinds.

GREEN PEAS

Sow varieties with varied maturities to gather peas all summer. Seed again two weeks later.

RADDISH

Radishes can be planted with slower-growing veggies and collected in 24 days. When spring soil is workable, plant radishes.

CARROTS

They grow well in loose, sandy soil throughout spring and fall.

CUCUMBERS

plant cucumbers near a fence. The barrier will support climbing and shelter. Plant near corn. Corn provides windbreak and heat for cucumbers.

KALE

Its buds and blossoms are delicious and may be plucked at various stages! Mustards and collards are easy-to-grow relatives of kale.

SWISS CHARD

It works in chilly and warm conditions. It is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, minerals, phytonutrients, and fiber, and its rainbow of hues are gorgeous!
